Senior Engineer.

Responsible for the design and manufacture of all custom engineered tooling and tooling related components (rubber molds, cold runner systems, trim dies, etc.) Additional responsibilities include customers’ contacts, tool & process troubleshooting, quoting, part design, overseeing outside tooling sources, and supervising machine shop and molding personnel. Tooling designed using Cadkey 7.5.


Plastics Injection Molding Facility 1 year

Components Coordinator.

Responsible for start-up and operation of all in-house mold building, including tool and die design, repair, and troubleshooting. Performed material procurement, supervised machine shop and molding personnel (plastic, rubber, & TPE), quoting, scheduling, and some product design (seals & sealing components). Additionally responsible for start-up and operation of polyurethane molding facility, including overseeing plant layout, plant utilities, specifying and ordering injecting molding presses and support equipment (dryers, trimming machines, etc.), tooling, and quoting.

Chief Engineer

Responsible for the design and manufacture of all tooling and tooling related components (rubber molds, LIM molds, composite tooling, cold runner systems, trim dies, fixtures, plastic tooling, loading boards, electrodes, etc.). Additional responsibilities include ordering & inspecting materials, customer contacts, tool troubleshooting, quoting, product design, and supervising three engineers, and fifteen machinists. Tooling designed using Autocad Release 11, Cadkey 6, Cadkey Analysis (thermal and stress analysis), Fastsurf, Solution 3000, and Mastercam programming system.


Fel-Pro Inc., Skokie, Illinois. (1988-1989)

Mold Designer

Responsible for the design and implementation of rubber compression, injection, and transfer molds, cold runners, loading trays, K.O. boards, and other mechanical devices necessary to support a thirty press rubber molding operation. Additional responsibilities included repair work, mold troubleshooting, vendor contacts, and some product design. Designs drawn on McDonnell Douglas Unigraphics II CAD system.


Ace Mold Company, Chicago, Illinois. (1982-1988)

Manufacturing Engineer

Responsible for design and manufacture of rubber compression, injection, and transfer molds. Also designed various mold components such as cold runner systems and loading trays using Computervision Personal Designer CAD system. Eventually lead to NC/CNC mill and lathe programming using Digital Equipment CAM system. Position also included ordering and inspecting materials, quality control, and overseeing shop operations.
